Pokhara as the Tourism Capital of Nepal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda declared Pokhara as the tourism capital of Nepal on the occasion of Pokhara festival on Sunday. The prime minister declared Pokhara as the tourism capital of Nepal, saying that Pokhara is a unique confluence of natural and cultural adventure areas.

Pokhara is the main tourist destination of Nepal. The destination has been announced by the Nepal government as the capital for tourism in the country from today. The Prime Minister unveiled a logo and memorial pillar relating to the touristic capital.

A study committee was formed with experts to declare Pokhara as the tourism capital. The committee studied and recommended declaring tourism capital based on various indicators.

Speaking at the event, Dhanraj Acharya, head of Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality, said that the beautiful Pokhara, which is unique in terms of natural and cultural adventure areas, and which is famous as the world's top tourist destination, has been officially declared as the country's tourist capital.
