Nepal has resumed all domestic and selected international flights

A cabinet meeting held on Monday (June 23, 2021) decided to resume domestic flights, but airlines are allowed to board only 50 per cent of their passenger capacity. The Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal have been told to prepare a detailed schedule for the flights.

While the flights were in operation to India, China, Qatar and Turkey only since early June, some other destinations have been added by the cabinet. As per the Office of the Prime Minister, the following flights will be scheduled regularly:

Kathmandu-Doha: Four flights a week (Two by Nepal Airlines and two by Qatar Airways)

Kathmandu-Istanbul: Two flights a week (Turkish Airlines)

Kathmandu-Dubai: Four flights a week (Two by Nepal Airlines and two by Etihad Airways)

Kathmandu-Dammam: Two flights a week (Nepal Airlines)

Kathmandu-Kuwait City: Two flights a week (Kuwait Airways)

Kathmandu-Muscat: One flight a week (Oman Air)

Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur: Four flights a week (Two by Nepal Airlines and two by Malaysia Airlines)

Kathmandu-Seoul: One flight a week (Korean Air)

Kathmandu-Tokyo: One flight a week (Nepal Airlines)

Kathmandu-Chengdu: Two flights a week (One by Nepal Airlines and one by China Southern Airlines)

Kathmandu-Guangzhou: Two flights a week (One by Nepal Airlines and one by China Southern Airlines)

Nepal had suspended all domestic and international flights except two with India every week since May owing to the surge in the Covid-19 cases.
