Increasing Spring Expedition 2022

Today 27 April 2022, a total of 110 teams have so far acquired mountaineering expedition permit in this spring season 2022.

According to the Department of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the expedition teams have already started leaving for the climb attempts of 25 peaks and mountains. The teams comprise 886 aspiring climbers from home and aboard. As per the expedition permits issued by the Mountaineering Section, 303 people of 38 teams have alone the permits to climb the world's highest peak Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest)

Sagarmatha (Mt Everest) measuring 8848.86 meters this spring season. Likewise, 97 of nine teams are allowed to climb the Ama Dablam (6,814 meters). Similarly, 26 members of four teams each will be attempting to scale the Annapurna (8,011 meters) , Nuptse (7,861 meters) 57 members of seven teams, Makalu (8,463) 39 members of four teams, Baruntse (7129m) 20 members of three teams, Makalu 39 members of 4 teams, Annapurna 4 (7525m), 9 members of 1 team, Lhotse (8516m) 112 members of 12 teams, Kanchenjunga (8586m) 68 members of 7 teams, while three teams of 27 members will be climbing the Dhaulagiri (8,167 meters).

One team has the permit to climb the Manaslu (8,163 meters). Likewise, four teams of 35 members each are so far allowed to scale the Himlung Peak and the Thapa or Dhambus Peak have 4 teams of 12 members. The Department so far collects 448.94 million in royalty from the mountaineering permit.
