Overview

For those with limited time who cannot trek to Everest Base Camp, the Everest mountain flight offers a panoramic view of the Himalayas in just one hour. As the aircraft lifts and heads east, passengers quickly begin to witness breathtaking views. First, to the far left, you’ll see Gosainthan (also called Shisha Pangma, 8,013 m), Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m), Choba-Bhamare (5,933 m), and Gauri Shankar (7,134 m), considered to be Lord Shiva and his consort Gauri. Other peaks include Melungtse (7,023 m), Chugimago (6,297 m), Numbur (6,956 m), and Cho-Oyu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world at 8,201 m. Further along, you’ll see Pumori (7,161 m), Nuptse (7,855 m), and finally, Everest (8,848 m), known as Sagarmatha in Nepali and Chomolungma in Tibetan.
