Over 1,000 Climbers Reach the Summit and Strong Revenue for Nepal

Among those who obtained permits to climb Mount Everest, 390 were men and 105 were women, representing 56 countries. According to officials, in addition to the climbers who received permits, more than 1,000 people, including climbing assistants and guides, -successfully summited Mount Everest this season.

This year, the largest number of successful climbers came from neighboring China, with 109 summiteers reaching the top of Mount Everest. They were followed by 77 climbers from the United States, 61 from India, 32 from the United Kingdom, 18 from Russia, 15 from Australia, 14 from Japan, 12 from Canada, 12 from Nepal, and 11 from Ireland.

This year, Kami Rita Sherpa set another world record by summiting Mount Everest for the 32nd time. The Sherpa climber from Solukhumbu broke his own record when he reached the summit on May 16. Similarly, among female climbers, Lakpa Sherpa from Makalu set a world record by climbing Mount Everest for the 11th time, surpassing her previous record. The government collected Rs 181.725 crore (1.81 billion) in revenue from Everest climbing permits. It also generated Rs 66.871 crore (0.66 billion) from Lhotse, Rs 31.785 crore (0.31 billion) from Makalu, Rs 16.69 crore (0.16 billion) from Ama Dablam, Rs 16.540 crore (0.16 billion) from Kanchenjunga, and Rs 12.49 crore (0.12 billion) from Annapurna I.
