Sankhu Nagarkot Day Hiking

Sankhu Nagarkot Hiking is a one day hiking trip. There are two separate sports Sankhu and Nagarkot are valuable. 

Sankhu is the ancient Newari town located in the north-eastern corner of Kathmandu Valley about 17 km from the capital city Kathmandu. Before the Malla Dynasty in Nepal, Sankhu was said to be a separate kingdom. The historical Durbar square (Layaku) has still been preserved. The temple of Bajrayogini(Khadgayogini) is one of the identities of Sankhu. It is situated in the middle of a hill. 

Nagarkot is a famous place to see the mountain ranges and sunrise/ Sunset. It lies at an altitude of 2175 meters and is located 32 km east of Kathmandu. From this place, one can have a complete panoramic view of the snowy ranges of Annapurna, Langtang, Choba Bhamre, Gaurishanker, Number Karyolung etc.

Sankhu to Nagarkot hiking starts from Sankhu and ends in Nagarkot.  The hiking / Walking over the construction road so that it is easy. Asian Hiking Teams' guide pick up from your hotel drive to Sankhu one hour, then 3–5 hours hiking to Nagarkot, then drive back to Kathmandu. 

Itinerary

8am - Pick up from your hotel - The guide and car/Van come to your hotel.

8.15am - drive to Sankhu - It takes 1 to 1.30 hours drive.

9am - explore Sankhu - rest and walk around.

10am - Hiking starts in Nagarkot.

12pm to 1pm - Lunch.

3-4pm - reach Nagarkot.

5-6pm - drive to Kathmandu. 

Note: if you want to stay overnight, Nagarkot is also possible.

Tour Cost: US$ 100 if you are single, If you are two persons US$ 75 per person, If you are three or more persons per person US$ 45 per person
