Lauribina pass 4681 m trek has been included in the Langtang National park north from Kathmandu. Laurebina Pass is over Gosaikunda, the border over Helambu. Langtang National park is the nearest trekking region from Kathmandu. Lauribina pass trek combines Langtang, Gosaikunda and Helambu trekking. So that, it is popular trekking in Nepal.
Langtang, a Himalayan valley, is inhabited by Tamnag and Tibetan (Bhote) people and provides a glimpse of mountain life. Langtang is a narrow valley situated 75 km north of Kathmandu, lies close to the Tibetan border. It takes about a six to seven-hour bus ride from Kathmandu to Shaybru base. Follow the Langtang Khola River, finally arriving at Kyanjin Gompa at 3900m. Kyanjin Gompa is the furthest place in the valley where you will find lodges to stay.
Gosaikunda is the site of several sacred lakes that area is uninhabited for the most part, but every August as many as 55,000 pilgrims crowd into the area for a festival by the lake that figures prominently in Hindu mythology.
The region of Helambu lies just to the north of Kathmandu at an average elevation of 2000 meter. The Helambu region is inhabited by the Sherpa people. However, the Sherpas of Helambu observe a different culture and lifestyle than the Sherpas of Khumbu region. The beautiful terraced landscapes and the rustic villages allure many tourists in the Helambu region.
Lauribina pass trekking is not difficult with the highest point being 4681 m. Asian Hiking Team itinerary starts from a Syabru Besi trek to Langtang Valley, then returns the same way until Pahiro. After that, the trail heading to Gosaikunda then passes the Lauribina, walking 2–3 hours from Gosaikunda. Continue walks to ride on the Helambu side to reach Chisapani, passing the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, to end your trek in Sundarijal, 45 minutes’ drive to Kathmandu.
Day 01: Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1450m) – 6–8 hours by bus, overnight at Hotel (B/L/D).
Day 02: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2480m) – approx. 6 to 7 hours trek, overnight at Guest House (B/L/D).
Day 03: Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3541m) – approx. 5 to 6 hours trek, overnight at Guest House (B/L/D).
Day 04: Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3900m) – approx. 3 hours trek, overnight at Guest House (B/L/D).
Day 05: Day hiking and back to Kyanjin Gompa, overnight at Guest House (B/L/D).
Day 06: Kyanjin Gompa- Lama Hotel 5-6 hours, overnight at Guest House (B/L/D).
Day 07: Lama Hotel - Thulo Syabru, 5-6 hours, overnight at Guest House (B/L/D).
Day 08: Thulo Syabru to Shing gomba, 3-5 hours, overnight at Guest House (B/L/D).
Day 09: Shing gomba to Gosainkunda, 5-6 hours, overnight at Guest House (B/L/D).
Day 10: Gosainkunda- Phedi 3630m or Ghopte 3520m, 6-8 hours (B/L/D).
Day 11: Phedi/Ghopte to Mangne Goth 3390, 5-6 hours (B/L/D).
Day 12: Mangegoth trek to Chipling 2170m (B/L/D).
Day 13: Chipling trek to Chisapani 2215m, 4 hours (B/L/D).
Day 14: Chisapani to Sundarijal 3-4 hours and drive to Kathmandu 1 hour (B/L).
Note: it is possible to start trekking anti-clock side too.
