Ghandruk Ghorepani trekking 2024

Ghandruk Ghorepani trekking is in the Annapurna region, which is the north-central part of Nepal. Ghandruk and Ghorepani are two separate villages. Ghandruk is a popular tourist place for trekkers in Annapurna area with easy trails and various accommodation possibilities, Gurung culture, a monastery, and excellent views of the Annapurna Mountains including a beautiful view of Machhapuchhare, called "Fishtail".

Ghorepani is famous for its large rhododendron forest as well as the fantastic panoramic sunrise and sunset views from Poon Hill, 3210 m, which is a one-hour walk-up from Ghorepani.

The Ghandruk Ghorepani circuit trek offers spectacular mountain scenery along with charming villages inhabited mostly by the Gurungs, Poon & Magars, a dense rhododendron forest full of birds and deep subtropical valleys, all set below the Annapurnas with the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) dominating the skyline. One of the important highlights of this trip is the outstanding view from Poon Hill, possibly the most spectacular mountain vista in Nepal. When the sun rises, it touches the snow-capped summits of the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) among the many other Annapurna area peaks.

The beautiful Gurung village of Ghandruk, home of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project, the Gurung Museum, and monastery are interesting to visit. Every day at 3PM you have a chance to visit the ACAP for a slide show to discover first hand the conservation work being carried out in the Ghandruk area.
